Vietnam to enjoy trade surplus for 4 consecutive years

With a record trade surplus of more than 9 billion USD over the past 11 months, experts believe that 2019 will be the fourth straight year Vietnam will post a trade surplus.

According to the Export-Import Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the country shipped more than 240 billion USD worth of goods abroad and imported more than 230 billion USD worth goods between January and November. The US remained the biggest destination for Vietnamese exports in the reviewed period, followed by the EU, China, ASEAN, Japan, and South Korea. The export structure has been changed significantly with less raw materials and more processed and industrial products shipped abroad.
