Vietnam to make tourism a spearhead industry

The tourism sector met its goal of a 30-percent rise in the number of foreign visitors, which has helped boost national economic growth and promote Vietnam's image during its integration into the world, according to statistics unveiled at a meeting of the State Steering Committee for Tourism in Hanoi on Tuesday.

Chairing the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam asked the tourism sector to improve its products, accommodation facilities, staffing, museums, and theme parks, while devising appropriate strategies and plans.
