(VOVWORLD) – Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam has asked the Ministry of Health to draft a plan for establishing a national vaccine institute and a research center for vaccine technology transfer.

Mr. Dam agreed in principle on international cooperation to develop international-standard research centers and conduct pre-clinical and clinical trials.

The Ministry of Health was directed to work with universities, institutes, and hospitals to create plans for vaccine trials.

The Deputy Prime Minister also called for more application of artificial intelligence (AI); expert systems to prevent, diagnose, and treat disease; and advanced technology to test the efficacy of traditional medicines to boost the pharmaceutical industry.
