Vietnam, US enhance people-to-people ties

President of the Vietnam-US Society Nguyen Tam Chien said exchanges between the Society and the US Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) have enhanced mutual understanding and friendship between the Vietnamese and American peoples, especially war veterans.

At a reception for a VFW delegation led by its Senior Vice Commander-in-Chief Keith E. Harman in Hanoi on Monday, Mr. Chien said the good settlement of post-war issues like AO/dioxin victims and unexploded bombs and mines in Vietnam will consolidate trust and cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides talked about the search for US servicemen missing in action during the war and plans for the first Vietnam-US veterans business forum scheduled for the end of this year.
