Vietnam War Veterans’ Association closes national congress

The 7th National Congress of the Vietnam War Veterans’ Association for the term 2022-2027 launched its the Executive Committee and closed on Saturday morning in Hanoi.

 

At the closing session, participants approved the report summarizing the work of the previous term and mapping out orientation and tasks for the current term, and amending the Association’s Charter.

 

The Executive Committee consists of 94 members. Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong, former member of the Party Central Committee and former Deputy Minister of National Defense, was elected President of the Vietnam War Veterans’ Association.

 

He told the closing ceremony: “We promise before the Congress and the entire Vietnam War Veterans Association to always unite and work together, building a collective of solid political will, absolute belief in the leadership of the Party and State, loyalty to the Party, the Fatherland, the people and the socialist regime.

 

“We will reform the working agenda, methods, and style, be proactive and creative in leading, operating and directing the performance of tasks, building a clean and strong Association, and accomplishing every task,” Truong said.

 

Certificates of merit were handed out to 33 people with outstanding achievements in building the Vietnam Veterans Association over the recent past.
