Vietnam wins prize at International Design Awards

Painter Nguyen Thu Thuy won a bronze medal at the 10th International Design Awards with her mural of a Vietnam tropical garden at Da Nang airport.

The mural covers a pillar, which is 7.4m in height and 6.4m in diameter, with bright images of plants and flowers. Thuy and her group also won a consolation prize for her Love Heart for Ha Noi, a heart-shaped sculpture decorated with millions of ceramic tiles placed by Truc Bach Lake in Hanoi. The two works are in the design categories of society and the environment.

The International Design Awards, established in 2007, are held annually in Los Angeles to recognize, honor and promote design visionaries and discover new talents in architecture, interior design, product design, graphic design, and fashion design.
