Vietnam wishes to sign FTA with EU

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc received EU Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Phil Hogan in Hanoi on Wednesday.

Mr. Phuc said the delegation's visit is an opportunity to enhance cooperation with Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. He said Vietnam wishes to push ahead on signing a free trade agreement with the EU.

He asked the EU to provide Vietnam with technical support in implementing the agreement. Vietnam will offer incentives for EU businesses to invest in agriculture and to facilitate bilateral trade.

Mr. Phuc and Mr. Hogan agreed to organize a working group to boost investment and trade and improve Vietnam-EU cooperation.
