Vietnamese Ambassador to Belize presents credentials

Colville Norbert Young, Governor General of Belize, admires Vietnam's struggle for national liberation in the past and its economic achievements in recent years, he said at a reception on Monday for Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico and Belize Nguyen Hoai Duong, who came to present his credentials.

The same day, Ambassador Duong paid a courtesy visit to Belize Prime Minister Dean Barrow, who said Belize can learn from Vietnam's experience in poverty alleviation and social welfare. Mr. Barrow said he wants closer economic, trade and investment cooperation within the framework of current bilateral and multilateral mechanisms, particularly in tourism and aquaculture.

Earlier, at a meeting with Belize Foreign Minister Wilfred Peter Elrington, Ambassador Duong asked Mr. Elrington to visit Vietnam soon to discuss measures to strengthen the friendship and all-round cooperation between the two countries.

Belize is a country located on the northeastern coast of Central America.
