Vietnamese entrepreneur community in Europe praised for continuous development

National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue has expressed his pleasure at the growth of the Vietnamese entrepreneur community, which includes 5.3 million businessmen in 130 countries and territories. Meeting representatives of the Vietnamese entrepreneur community in Europe in Budapest on Sunday evening during his official visit to Hungary, Chairman Hue said that 15 years after its establishment, the Union of Vietnamese Business Associations in Europe has organized 12 business forums.

“Vietnamese enterprises around the world, particularly those in Europe, have contributed to their host country and acted as a bridge between the economies of those countries and Vietnam, thus indirectly contributing to Vietnam’s economic development,” said Mr. Hue.

He noted, “2021 was a tough year due to COVID-19, but IMF statistics show that 18.1 billion USD worth of remittances were sent to Vietnam, a large part of which was the revenue of Vietnamese businesses abroad.”

Chairman Hue said 17 Vietnamese people living abroad have been elected members of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
