Vietnamese Mother Goddess rituals introduced in India

A festival featuring the Vietnamese Mother Goddess rituals opened in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Vietnamese Ambassador Ton Sinh Thanh said the practice has been a living museum of Vietnamese historical and cultural identities reflecting the Vietnamese people's spiritual aspirations. Vietnamese worship of the Mother Goddess has received UNESCO recognition as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity. Similar festival activities will take place in the northeastern Indian state of Assam and West Bengal state later this month.
