Vietnamese movie wins Italian international award

The movie The Way Station (A?o c?a dAn ng? cu) by director Hong Anh was honored as the best film based on a book at the International Efebo d'Oro Award's ceremony in Italy on Sunday.

It is adapted from writer Do Phuoc Tien's story of the same name, depicting the confusion and uncertainty that the characters undergo in their journey to look for happiness and meaning in their life.

The Efebo d'Oro is awarded annually to successful book adaptations. It was launched in 1978 by the Research Centre for Cinema and Narrative and is officially recognized by the Italian Ministry of Heritage and Culture. As a venue for great cinematographic works and commonly featuring the elite of that industry, the Efebo d'Oro has become a prestigious international honor.
