Vietnamese painting displayed at Italy’s Velli Palace

Melody of Bamboo by Vietnamese painter Hoang Dinh has been on display at Velli Palace in Rome, Italy.

The painting was awarded the Giulio Cesare: Art Emperor prize by Art International Contemporary magazine. Dinh said the impressionist-style painting is inspired by rows of bamboos, boats, and rivers which are emblematic of the Vietnamese countryside. Apart from its predominantly green hue, it is also dotted with yellow, brown, orange, and red lines. Experts said that they could feel the various dimensions of space, sound, and motion captured in the painting. The piece is due to be displayed at an exhibition at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum in October.
