The Vietnamese team finished third with two silver and seven bronze medals at the World Mathematics Olympiad in Tianjin, China, last week.

The silver medals went to Hoang Duong Phuc Quang and To Huynh Phuc, both students from Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted. This is the second time Vietnam has entered the final round of the competition with twelve 5th and 6th graders from schools in Ho Chi Minh City. They competed against students from China, the UK, Canada, Australia, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

The World Mathematics Olympiad is an annual international mathematics competition for students aged 8 to 13.
