Viet Nam Tourism Association Vice President Vu The Binh attributed the sharp increase in the number of Vietnamese to Japan in recent three years to the two Governments’ promotion policies in this field.

In 2013, Viet Nam set a new record when receiving more than 604,000 Japanese travelers. As many as 85,000 Vietnamese travelled to Japan in the year, up 55% from 2012.

By September this year, when Japan approved visa exemption for Vietnamese citizens, the visitors from the Southeast Asian country to Japan would be increasing.

The Viet Nam Society of Travel Agents established a representative office in Japan. In the future, the two nations’ tourism agencies will launch further cooperative activities to reduce tour expenditure in Japan in the future.

Over the past seven months, Viet Nam welcomed 362,530 Japanese visitors, up nearly 7%.
