Vietnam’s Hoi An honored on Google homepage

A Google Doodle featuring Vietnam's ancient town of Hoi An appeared on Tuesday, making it the first Vietnamese destination to be so honored.

An image of Hoi An in central Vietnam with symbols of the Chua Cau (Pagoda Bridge) and colorful lanterns made up Google's logo for the day. The Google Doodle is a special temporary presentation that commemorates holidays, events, achievements and people.

The ancient town of Hoi An has made a huge leap on the Top 15 Cities in the World list of travel magazine Travel + Leisure, from its 8th position last year to the number one spot this year.
