Vietnam’s total trade estimated to surpass 600 billion USD for first time

Vietnam’s total trade value will likely hit a record 645 billion USD this year despite the devastating impact of COVID-19, said Tran Thanh Hai, Deputy Director of the Import-Export Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Vietnam is also expected to record trade surplus this year.

Exports of key items including telephones, electronics, machinery and components are projected to grow between 15 and 25%.

In October, the industrial production index was estimated to increase by nearly 7% against the previous month, largely attributed to the recovery of the manufacturing sector in Ho Chi Minh City and its neighboring industrial hubs.
