VN, Denmark tighten trade ties

VGP – Denmark always gives priority to Viet Nam in terms of politics and economics with the hope to further strengthening partnership and close cooperation between the two countries, Danish Minister for Trade and Development Cooperation Mogens Jensen pronounced during a Viet Nam – Denmark business workshop in Ha Noi on January 19.

The seminar held in the framework of the Minister’s visit to Viet Nam which aims to foster fine relations and trade cooperation between the two countries.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh said since 1994 Denmark has provided $1.3 billion in official development assistance (ODA) for Viet Nam, contributing to strong socio-economic development in the country.
Trade between a dual nations has grown by 75% since 2009, with Vietnamese investment in Denmark doubling and Danish collateral flows into Viet Nam tripling.
Now, more than 130 Danish companies are operating in Viet Nam in the fields of timber, garment, energy, the environment, information technology and communications, electronics, software, logistics, food and healthcare.
Deputy Director General of the Confederation of Danish Industry Thomas Bustrup spoke highly of Denmark – Viet Nam close cooperation in recent years, adding that the Danish trade delegation’s visit to Viet Nam this time will actively contribute to boosting bilateral trade ties.
