VN enjoys trade surplus of nearly US$2 bln from Australia

VGP – Viet Nam enjoyed a trade surplus of US$1.93 billion from Australia in 2014, according to the statistics of the Viet Nam Customs.

The nation’s exports and imports from Australia were US$3.99 billion and US$2.06 billion, respectively.

Peppercorn obtained an export revenue rise of 52.5%, aquatic, up 20.7% and cashew up 12.6%.

The exports of some manufacturing and processing items achieved remarkable growth rate, including iron and steel up 121%, electric and cable wires up 80.4%,  vehicles and spare parts up 66.5% and garment up 46.7%.  

Meanwhile, wheat remained the top item Australia exported to Viet Nam. The item purchase was worth US$452.49 million, up 5.3%.

Milk and dairy products saw a sturdy rise of 112.9% to US$ 40.39 million.
