The delegates discussed measures to bolster youth cooperation and exchange experience in mobilizing young people to play a greater role in socio-economic development and voluntary community activities.

The conference also included a series of activities including meetings, workshops and tours to historical sites and landscapes which aim to educate the young delegates on the traditional friendship and solidarity between people of the three nations.

Speaking at the conference, First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Nguyen Dac Vinh highlighted the time-honoured friendship among the three neighbouring countries as an invaluable asset.

It is necessary for the new young generations to be aware of the honor and pride, inherit and further develop the traditional friendship nurtured by their ancestors.

Head of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee’s Commission for External Affairs Hoang Binh Quan described the conference as a practical activity contributing to the education about the friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the three countries for younger generations.

Young people from the three nations can exchange views on issues of shared concern and work out effective measures to foster cooperation between youth organizations, said Vilayvong Bouddakham, First Secretary of the Central Committee of Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union and President of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC) Hun Many.

The conference will last until December 12./.
