VN – largest ASEAN goods provider for US

VGP – Viet Nam enjoyed a trade surplus of US$24.9 billion with the US in 2014, the highest figure ever recorded.

The Viet Nam-US trade turnover in 2014 reached US$36.3 billion with Viet Nam’s exports and imports attaining US$30.6 billion and US$5.7 billion, up 24% and 13.6%, respectively.

The sum included nearly US$10 billion from exporting garment to the US, which accounted for 9.26% of the US market share and contributed to one thirds of Viet Nam’s export value to the US.

With the overall figure, Viet Nam beat Malaysia and Thailand to become the largest goods provider for the US in ASEAN in 2014. 

Thailand earned US$27.1 billion while Malaysia raked in US$30.4 billion in exports to the US.
