Indonesia took the top position, followed by Viet Nam and Myanmar.

The survey, titled the 2015 ASEAN Business Outlook Survey, gauged opinions from nearly 600 senior executives in U.S. companies engaged in operations throughout all the 10 ASEAN nations.

According to statements given by those polled in the survey, 75% of the U.S. businesses choose Viet Nam to expand investment and 22% maintain their operation scale in Viet Nam.

In term of investment transit from China to the ASEAN nations, Viet Nam topped the list with 27%, up 5% compared to the previous survey.

The reasons for Viet Nam’s attractiveness include a stable government and political system, positive sentiments toward the U.S., the availability of low cost labor, and good personal security.

Key takeaways from the Viet Nam section of the survey include 57% of executives showing expectations for their workforce to grow in 2014, 66% hoping for their profit to increase in 2014, 82% expecting their profit to rise in 2015 and 95% of expatriate employees expressing satisfaction of their assignments.
