VN – UK trade turnover rises

VGP – Viet Nam-United Kingdom (UK) trade turnover reached more than US$2 billion in the first half of 2014, stated Deputy Director of the Export-Import Department Phan Thi Dieu Ha.

As of July 2014, Viet Nam earned US$670 million, US$265 million and US$246 million from exporting phones and accessories, footwear and garment, respectively to the UK.

Especially, among Viet Nam’s items exported to the UK, timber, garment, footwear, plastic products, aquatic items, and mobile phones achieved high growth rate, contributing greatly to the bilateral trade turnover.

The nation mainly imported equipment (US$110 million) and pharmaceutical products (US$60 million) from the European country.
