Voters praise economic achievements in early 2018

National Assembly deputies on Tuesday discussed the outcome of Vietnam's socio-economic plans and the State Budget last year and the implementation of this year's tasks.

Voters and the people praised the government's performance in realizing the resolutions to improve peoples' lives. Mai Thi Phuong Hoa, a National Assembly deputy for Nam Dinh province said the public was impressed with economic achievements, which validates the government's management efforts.

"The government has effectively dealt with complicated cases and has publicized inspection results on mass media. This helps the public monitor inspection activities," Hoa said.

Deputies urged the government ministries, sectors, and businesses to grasp opportunities created by the 4th industrial revolution while restructuring the economy and renewing Vietnam's growth model to achieve the set target growth of 6.7% this year.

Trinh Ngoc Phuong, a deputy for Tay Ninh province, said: "Overlapping mechanisms are the biggest challenge for us to realize the target growth. We need to build a more mechanism to facilitate investors."

The deputies heard reports on the draft law on Vietnam Coast Guard and discussed the revised Defense Law.
