WB helps Vietnam upgrade rural transportation, protect forests

The World Bank has approved a loan worth 300 million USD for Vietnam to reinforce transport connectivity in rural areas, and protect forests along eight coastal provinces.

Half of the funding will be channeled to a project to upgrade National Highway 19, which runs through Binh Dinh and Gia Lai province in the Central Highlands. The remainder of the loan will go to a project on coastal forest management. The cash comes from the International Development Association, the World Bank's fund for low-income countries.
