WB pledges support for Vietnam’s infrastructure development

The World Bank (WB) is willing to work with Vietnam in infrastructure development, provide both financial and technical aid as well as support in mobilizing capital from the private sector, said WB Vice President for Infrastructure Makhtar Diop. During his visit to Vietnam from Wednesday to Friday, the bank official praised Vietnam's efforts in setting up plans for and prioritizing the national key infrastructure projects. With Vietnam's rapid economic growth of nearly 7.1% in 2018, Vietnam is expected to spend 25 billion USD on infrastructure development annually. Mr. Diop also underscored that investments of large-scale and high-quality on Vietnam's infrastructure will play a vital role in maintaining Vietnam's economic growth in the medium to long term.
