The event aims to promote exchanges of international experience in anti-corruption and frauds to develop the economy and increase trust in society.

Speaking at the workshop, World Bank (WB) Country Director to Viet Nam Victoria Kwakwa confirmed that the WB followed the efforts made by Viet Nam in strengthening the effectiveness of governance, especially for projects using public capital or Official Development Assistance (ODA), to facilitate and create fairness for all kinds of enterprises contributing to the economic development.

Over the past three years, the WB provided more than US$4 billion for Viet Nam, she revealed.

The active cooperation and experience learnt from other nations in preventing corruption is necessary, she added.

Asserting the determination in combating corruption, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Chi Dung appreciated experience of the WB and other countries in preventing corruption and frauds and enhancing transparency.

Currently, Viet Nam is doing its utmost in the reform process to create a firm foundation for rapid and sustainable growth.

In 2014, the country amended and issued some crucial laws and legal documents such as the Laws on Investment, Enterprises and Contract to consolidate the whole legal system and synchronize the policy in a transparent and fair manner in conformity with international regulations.

In the future, the Government will continue to improve the effectiveness of public investment to create equality for businesses as well as social consensus.

Viet Nam has received around US$80 billion in ODA during its 30 years of renovation.
