World leaders mark 100th anniversary of Armistice Day

Leaders of 70 countries, territories, and international organizations gathered in Paris on Sunday to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.

Addressing the event, French President Emmanuel Macron recalled painful memories of the war and called for efforts to maintain global stability. He called nationalism a threat to world peace.

Armistice Day was observed in other countries, including Australia, New Zealand, India, and Myanmar.
