World powers express concern about conflict in Libya

The UN Security Council expressed concern on Friday about military activities near Libya's capital Tripoli, warning that they threaten the country's stability, and called on Libyan National Army (LNA) troops commanded by Khalifa Haftar to halt all military movements.

Several countries including the US, France, Germany, Italy, the UK, Russia, and the United Arab Emirates urged all involved parties to immediately halt military activities toward Tripoli, which have worsened the situation of Libya. Earlier, G7 foreign ministers interrupted a meeting in France to express their deepest concern about the renewed fighting and urged an immediate end to all military activities. Despite the calls, the rivalry emerge between the Tripoli-based authorities and Haftar's supporters seems not reduce.
