1.6 billion USD semiconductor plant to be built in Bac Ninh

 

 South Korea’s Amkor Technology will invest 1.6 billion USD to build a plant to manufacture, assemble, and test semiconductor products. Construction is scheduled to begin next quarter on a site of 23ha in Yen Phong Industrial Park in the northern province of Bac Ninh. 520 million USD will be disbursed in the first five years of the project which will focus on the production, assembly and testing of semiconductor materials, including the Advanced System in Package (SiP), for the world’s leading semiconductor and electronic manufacturing companies. The plant is expected to be put into operation by the end of 2023.

Amkor Technology headquartered in the US is among the top global providers of Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) services.
