How did the NFT project come about? 

The metagration’s initial minting— 60 digital assets and domain names—started appearing on OpenSea the morning of February 25, 2022. Although none of the NFTs are presently for sale, this collection of who’s who includes celebrities from many industries such as film, art, sports, music, entrepreneurship, and fashion.

“The metagration has already secured nearly 10,000 more of the hottest domain names associated with leading businesses, brands, and influencers, collectively representing billions of followers and trillions of dollars,” said Oberbrunner, a spokesperson for the metagration.

Evidently, the metagration noticed an emerging trend with new tech. In recent years, he saw more and more brands and businesses using .io extensions for websites. Examples include etherscan.io, metamask.io, and autograph.io Even the latest Matrix movie references .io, a new underground human city.

His timing was spot on because December 2021 through February 2022, proved to be a popular time for corporations to onboard into the metaverse.

Why is the NFT project important?

Oberbrunner said, “The metagration has several essential forthcoming twists that demonstrate the true utility of the NFT collection and how together humans could create a safer Web3 world.”

When he asked how, the NFT artist gave Oberbrunner an example. Evidently disgusted by the headlines of the recent sexual assault of a mother in the metaverse, the metagration purchased several domain names with the purpose of minting them as NFTs and forever retiring them, symbolically abolishing what they represent.

MetaverseRape.io, MetaverseRape.com, and MetaverseRape.xyz will never be used for evil in the new world. Instead, these NFTs and domain names will be leveraged to provide financial, emotional, and spiritual support for victims of rape in the real world and the digital world.

Vietnam gives top priority to protecting citizens in Ukraine

 President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Sunday asked the Vietnamese Embassy in Ukraine to take full responsibility for protecting the lives and properties of Vietnamese citizens there. Mr. Phuc made the request after listening to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies report on the status of Vietnamese citizens in Ukraine.

“The guiding spirit of the Party, State, and the Party Secretariat is to ensure that no Vietnamese people in combat zones are killed or injured. They must not be left hungry or cold during the evacuation. The protection of Vietnamese citizens should be given special attention,” said President Phuc.

He asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with other ministries and sectors in implementing the directives of the Government and Prime Minister on citizen protection.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine Nguyen Hong Thach reported online to the President that the Embassy is supporting and evacuating all overseas Vietnamese who wish to leave the combat zone. Some Vietnamese want to stay to look after their property in Kharkiv and Odessa, the two Ukrainian cities with the largest Vietnamese population. Others have already been evacuated to rural areas in Ukraine, according to Mr. Thach.

To deal with Ukraine issues the Government has established a special working group led by Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh. There are 7,000 Vietnamese living in Ukraine. More than 400 have been evacuated to Romania and more than 1,000 to Poland. Most of them want to return home. On Tuesday and Wednesday, they will board flights organized by the government to return to Vietnam.

Vietnam Embassy in Hungary receives 290 evacuees from Ukraine

As of Sunday, the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary received 290 Vietnamese expatriates who had been evacuated from combat zones in Ukraine. Of them 170 have been provided with accommodation and the rest have been assisted to complete immigration procedures to move to the third country according to their wish. 50 Vietnamese on the way to Hungary who will be taken by logistics forces from the border railway stations to temporary shelters. As an increasing number of Vietnamese have been evacuated from combat zones in Ukraine and the EU countries are opening their borders to refugees from Ukraine, Keleti station, east of the capital Budapest, has become a stopover for many Vietnamese citizens who fled Ukraine to Hungary via Moldova and Romania.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary Nguyen Thi Bich Thao said that the Embassy has set up a committee for support of Vietnamese refugees from Ukraine, which consists of staff of the Embassy and Vietnamese associations, and two other groups namely Legal Information Group and Logistics Group.

UN chief calls for ceasefire in Ukraine

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Sunday called on all parties to the conflict in Ukraine to cease fire for the safe evacuation of civilians from cities and for humanitarian aid to reach those who are still holding on. “It is absolutely essential to establish a pause in the fighting in Ukraine to allow for the safe passage of civilians from Mariupol, Kharkiv and Sumy, as well as all other places caught in conflict, and to ensure life-saving humanitarian supplies can be brought in for those who remain,” Guterres wrote on Twitter Sunday.

PM praises women’s enormous contributions to national development

Vietnamese women have demonstrated their capabilities and virtues, greatly contributing to national development and international integration, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said at Monday’s meeting for International Women’s Day (March 8).  He told female participants who are leaders, intellectuals and artists, that women account for more than 30.2% of the deputies at the current National Assembly, the highest so far.

Vietnam ranks 60th in the world, fourth in Asia and first in the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) in terms of percentage of women in people’s elected bodies.

The country also comes third in ASEAN and 47th out of 187 countries and territories in gender equality in political participation.

PM Chinh asked for effective implementation of the national strategy on gender equality until 2030 so that women can be further involved  in the development process and enjoy more fruits of development.

“Gender quality and women emancipation are an irreversible trend and in line with Vietnam’s cultural tradition. I believe that the fine values of women will fuel the happiness in each family and the community, contributing to a powerful and wealthy Vietnam.”
