Art programs mark 111 years of Ho Chi Minh’s departure for national salvation

200 singers, artists, and children sang songs in praise of President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnam, its land and people in an art program on Sunday evening in Ho Chi Minh City to celebrate 111 years since Ho Chi Minh started a journey to seek a path for national salvation.

Ho Chi Minh Museum opened a photo exhibition on Sunday, showcasing 150 images, documents and artifacts related to President Ho Chi Minh when he lived in Hue and moved to Saigon, the former name of Ho Chi Minh City. The exhibition gives an insight into the life and revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh.

111 years ago, on June 5, a young man named Nguyen Tat Thanh, who later became President Ho Chi Minh, left Vietnam from Nha Rong harbor in Ho Chi Minh City on a French ship, beginning a 30-year journey to find a path to national salvation for Vietnam. The path he chose through national liberation to socialism has faithfully guided Vietnam’s development.
