Russia suspends its mission to NATO, foreign minister says

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Monday that Russia is suspending its mission to NATO as of November 1, adding that contact between NATO and Moscow may be done through the Russian embassy in Belgium.

NATO announced last Wednesday that it had cut the staff of the Russian mission to NATO from 20 to 10 members, revoking the accreditation of 8 diplomats and abolishing 2 vacant positions.

Russia condemned NATO’s move to halve the staff at its Moscow headquarters in spite of Russia’s efforts to dialogue with NATO.

Issues of law-governed socialist State building discussed in detail

Different issues in the building and perfection of a law-governed socialist State were discussed at a meeting chaired by National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue on Tuesday. The meeting is the second held by the steering committee for a scheme to build a strategy for building and perfecting the law-governed socialist State of Vietnam until 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Chairman Hue spoke highly of the opinions given at the meeting, noting that the model of a law-governed socialist State in Vietnam features both the universality of a law-governed State in the world and the specific socialist-oriented features of the country.

Given this, the strategy making process must adhere to relevant viewpoints of the Party and State, the resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, as well as the socio-economic development strategy for 2021-2030. It must also take into account the post-2030 period, he added.
