COVID-19: Vietnam’s infection tally passes 12,000

 

– The Ministry of Health said that from 6 am to 12 noon on Thursday, Vietnam recorded 220 new cases, raising the total infection tally to 12,014.

The new cases included 8 imported cases, which have been quarantined after entering Hanoi (4 cases), Quang Nam (2 cases), Kien Giang (1 case), and Hoa Binh (1 case).

212 locally-transmitted cases were detected in Bac Giang (178 cases), Ho Chi Minh City (30 cases), Tien Giang (2 cases), Ha Tinh (1 case), and Nghe An (1 case). Of them 208 cases were detected in quarantine or lockdown areas.

As of 12 noon on Thursday, Vietnam documented a total of 12,014, including 10,350 domestic cases and 1,664 imported cases.

The number of new cases from April 27 to now is 8,780, of which 1,816 patients have been declared cured. There are 61 deaths.
