Economic diplomacy promoted for development

Each Ambassador or head of a representative agency abroad needs to fulfil their responsibilities to the Party and people and use economic diplomacy to maintain Vietnam’s growth momentum and realize socio-economic development goals set out by the 13th National Party Congress, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son said Monday at a briefing in Hanoi for Vietnamese representative missions abroad. The Minister requested that units and heads of representative missions continue promoting research, offering advice, and making economic forecasts.

They should also, he said, closely monitor regional economic developments, assess new economic initiatives and supply chain trends, and look for new opportunities to attract investment.

He stressed the need to help enterprises strengthen their foreign relations and expand their export markets.
