Hanoi leader inspects five major projects

– On August 29, Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Head of the city’s National Assembly delegation Dinh Tien Dung led a delegation of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee to survey and inspect 5 major projects in the capital city.

Secretary of the City Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung and members of the Standing Committee conducted a check on the progress of site clearance work for the project of improving the drainage system in the western part of the city in the area from Am Bridge to La Khe bridge, Ha Dong district; survey at the location of underground jack drilling (well 9.2) under package No. 2, Project on Construction of sluice system for To Lich river; survey and inspect Yen Xa wastewater treatment plant project, and the Hanoi Museum and Thang Long Imperial Citadel.

These are all very important projects and works, which are of special interest to the City’s leaders, of which, the first 3 projects are of great significance to the capacity of water drainage, prevention and control of inundation; wastewater treatment, environmental protection; restore, improve water quality, and revive To Lich river.

The Hanoi Museum is a work to celebrate 1,000 years of Thang Long – Hanoi, and was put into operation in 2010, but up to now, there remains parts incomplete, including the display area. For the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, the focus is to restore Kinh Thien Palace.

At the fieldwork of each project, the city’s leader listened to relevant agencies and units’ report on progress, existing difficulties and obstacles that need to be resolved.

In particular, regarding the problem of site clearance in the area of La Khe canal under the project of improving the drainage system in the west of the city, Dung directed the participation of the entire political system to create consensus among the people.

For the Yen Xa wastewater treatment plant project, the Secretary of the City Party Committee suggested relevant parties must cooperate closely to speed up the progress, ensuring the project would become an example of the Vietnam – Japan friendship cooperation.

Regarding the project of Hanoi Museum, Dung suggested that Hanoi should speed up the disbursement progress and complete the display project by June 2024 at the latest, eventually putting the project into operation from October 2024. The Secretary of the City Party Committee noted that if the contractor, consulting or design unit fails to meet the requirements, the competent authority must consider replace these units to ensure the on-time completion.

Overall, Secretary of the City Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung requested the Party Committee of the City People’s Committee, investors, contractors, all levels, branches, agencies, units and localities to actively review and re-evaluate the specific progress of each bidding package, item and part of projects and works; especially clarifying each difficulty and problem, proposing directions and solutions associated with individual responsibilities.

The Hanoi People’s Committee is responsible for closely supervising the progress of each project to ensure their completion on time.
