Hanoi mayor visits construction sites of key transport projects

On September 7, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Chairman of the City People’s Committee Tran Sy Thanh visited the construction sites of a number of key traffic projects in the city.

At a meeting with Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (PMU), PMU Director Nguyen Chi Cuong said at present, the agency is implementing about 60 public investment projects and 09 investment projects in the form of PPP, with an allocated funding of VND1.9 trillion.

Among the assigned tasks, there are national key projects such as: Investment project to build Ring Road 4 – Hanoi Capital Region; 03 key projects, group A period 2021-2025 (Vinh Tuy Bridge – phase 2; Renovating and upgrading National Highway 6, section Ba La – Xuan Mai; Road connecting Phap Van – Cau Gie and RR3) ; 04 key projects in the period 2016-2020 (underpass Le Van Luong – RR3; Underpass at the intersection of RR2,5 with Giai Phong road, An Duong intersection, Thanh Nien road phase 2; Overpass at Chua Boc intersection – Pham Ngoc Thach). By August 2022, the PMU disbursed VND883.2 billion, reaching 46.5% of the year’s target.

Regarding the management of project implementation in the first 8 months of 2022, for projects that have established investment policies, in March 2022, the PMU completed and approved the Technical Report: renovation and upgrade National Highway 6, section Ba La – Xuan Mai; Road connecting Phap Van – Cau Gie road and Ring road 3; Underpass at Ring 2.5 – Giai Phong street intersection.

For key and important projects, the National Key Project Ring Road 4 – Capital Region has now completed the installation of landmarks on the sections of the route with red line (36/43.7km), and is expected to start construction in June 2023 according to the Resolution 56/2022/QH15 of the National Assembly.

For key projects of group A in the period 2021-2025: National Highway 6 renovation and upgrading project, Ba La – Xuan Mai section is set to start construction in November 2022; The road connecting Phap Van – Cau Gie road and Ring Road 3 is in the process of finding a consultant to carry out the Survey Package, prepare the technical design – estimate, and is expected to start the project at the beginning of the second quarter of 2023; and Vinh Tuy bridge construction project – phase 2 will be completed on schedule in June 2023.

Evaluating the implementation of traffic projects in the area, Chairman of the City People’s Committee Tran Sy Thanh acknowledged the collective efforts of the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board. Regarding difficulties in site clearance, the Chairman of the City People’s Committee requested the localities to focus on drastic implementation, ensure compliance with regulations and soon hand over the land to the construction unit. For Ring Road 4, Chairman of the City People’s Committee Tran Sy Thanh emphasized that this is a key project of the city, therefore, localities under the projects areas must establish a steering committee and closely coordinate with each other and functional units to focus on ensuring the completion of site clearance and resettlement on time, in which, focusing on the role and responsibility of the leaders, and at the same time, ensuring the best policy for households that must relocate, and strengthen propaganda to create consensus among the people.
