Joe Biden to deliver State of the Union address on March 1

US President Joe Biden’s first State of the Union address will be held on March 1, the White House said Friday.

This is the latest time that a president has made the State of the Union address to Congress.

The speech is more commonly delivered around the end of January or early February but it has been delayed for a number of reasons. Washington is focusing on tackling the latest COVID-19 outbreak caused by the Omicron variant, and some top agendas of the government haven’t been approved by the Senate.

The State of the Union address is a tradition that offers Presidents a chance to highlight their priorities and agenda at the start of a new year.
