Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and State President, began a 2-day visit to Vietnam on Monday.

It is the first foreign trip by Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith as Lao Party General Secretary and President for the 2021 – 2026 term.

After an official welcome ceremony in Hanoi on Monday morning for Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith hosted by President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Vietnam’s Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and the Lao leader held talks and witnessed the signing of cooperation agreements.

Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith ‘s visit has a very special meaning, as it continues to affirm the solidarity, bonds, trust, and loyalty between the two countries.

It is an opportunity for both countries to continue sharing their experience in national development and measures to promote the effective implementation of high-level agreements.
