(VOVWORLD) –National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue has asked Philippine Ambassador Meynardo Los Banos Montealegre to coordinate towards considering signing a cooperation agreement between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the Philippine Senate and House of Representatives. He made the statement at a  reception for  the Philippine ambassador in Hanoi on Wednesday.

The Philippine ambassador said that the two countries need to find solutions to promote bilateral trade relations and soon sign a memorandum of understanding on trade cooperation.

Regarding maritime security and safety in the East Sea, the Philippine diplomat applauded Vietnam for complying with international law, especially the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.

National Assembly Chairman Hue agreed with the Ambassador’s opinion, emphasizing support for each other’s views on the East Sea according to the agreed principles of ASEAN, full and effective implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) and close coordination in negotiating the Code of Conduct in the East Sea (COC).
