Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has asked the north-central and central coastal regions to leverage on its potential to ensure social economic development and national defense and security. Party leader Trong was addressing a national conference in Hanoi on Wednesday to review the implementation of the 13th Politburo’s Resolution on socio-economic development and national defense and security in the regions by 2030 with a vision to 2045.
“The north-central and central coastal regions should develop in line with strategies on social economic development, national sustainable development and green growth as well as Vietnam’s sustainable maritime economic development. The regions should improve its maritime strength and prosperity, existing infrastructure, coastal economic zones, industrial areas and urban systems, economic corridors and development hubs,” he said.
The Party leader emphasized on solutions indicated by the resolution, including regional connectivity, urban development, environmental protection and climate change adaptation as well as social cultural development, national defense and security.
