Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on Friday chaired a Politburo meeting on policies to help workers and employers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Party leader said that the Politburo agreed to continue support policies in line with the direction adopted at the Politburo’s June 11 meeting on key tasks to strengthen COVID-19 prevention and control and socio-economic development. He requested a review of those in need and appropriate amount of assistance to ensure fairness, publicity, transparency, efficiency and practicality.
“In the world, the pandemic situation remains complicated, so we should not be complacent. The Party and State have recently allocated money from the budget and other sources to help people. During this 4th wave of outbreak, we will work out multiple solutions to develop the economy and contain the pandemic.”
At the meeting, the Politburo also requested that the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, ministries and local authorities closely follow the actual developments of the pandemic, strengthen inspection and monitoring, and strictly handle violations.
