PM meets with Vietnamese community in UK

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has praised overseas Vietnamese in the UK for promoting solidarity and integrating into British society despite the pandemic.

At a meeting with more than 100 representatives of Vietnamese people living and working in the UK on Sunday, Mr. Chinh thanked the community for helping their countrymen in Vietnam, especially the donations given by businesses and individuals to the COVID-19 Vaccine Fund, despite facing the same pandemic difficulties themselves.

Mr. Chinh said the Party and State consider overseas Vietnamese an indispensable part of Vietnam, a resource, and an important factor in the partnership and friendship between Vietnam and other countries. Any Vietnamese inside or outside Vietnam is treated equally, he said.

The same day, Prime Minister Chinh witnessed the signing of 26 cooperation agreements worth billions of USD between Vietnam and the UK, covering trade, agriculture, energy, education, training, environmental protection, and sports.
