President Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked for the United Nations’ policy advisory and financial and technical support for Vietnam’s growth model transformation in the Industry 4.0. He told the outgoing UN Country Coordinator for Vietnam, Kamal Malhotra, in Hanoi on Thursday that Vietnam appreciates the UN’s support for its development and international integration He said Vietnam supports the UN’s central role in fostering unity and cooperation among countries to address global challenges and maintaining peace and security for global prosperity. He said that Vietnam will continue to be an active member of the world community and the UN through its positive contribution to the UN Security Council, peace keeping operations, and the promotion of sustainable development goals. Mr Kamal Malhotra pledged to continue support for and stand by side with Vietnam in its national development.

The same day, during a reception to the UN Coordinator, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue called for the UN’s for Vietnam’s pandemic control and economic recovery. Mr Kamal Malhotra said he would strengthen Vietnam’s connection with various organizations and fora in order to boost Vietnam’s capacity to become a high-mid income country.
