At the invitation of Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Committee, Head of the Hanoi National Assembly Deputies Delegation Dinh Tien Dung, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, Secretary The City Party Committee, Chairman of the People’s Council of Vientiane Anouphap Tounalom, led a high-ranking city delegation to visit Hanoi, from August 9 to 14. Welcoming the delegation at Noi Bai Airport were member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Communication and Education Commission of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Huyen Mai; Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Duong Duc Tuan.

The visit the high-ranking delegation of Vientiane would contribute to consolidating and strengthening the cooperation relations between Vietnam and Laos in general and Hanoi and Vientiane in particular.

This is also among a series of activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (September 5, 1962 – September 5, 2022) and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Vietnam and Laos (July 18, 1977 – July 18, 2022), concretizing the spirit, significance and purpose of “The Year of Friendship and Solidarity between Vietnam – Laos, Laos – Vietnam 2022”.

Within the framework of the visit, it is expected that the high-ranking delegation of Vientiane will pay a courtesy visit to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, and Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue.

Secretary of Vientiane Party Committee, Chairman of the People’s Council Anouphap Tounalom will hold talks with Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung, and meetings with leaders of the People’s Committee and the City Council.

In addition, the Vientiane High-Level Delegation will also meet with the Hanoi high-level delegation; attending the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition on Vietnam – Laos relations, and the Trade Investment Promotion Conference with the theme “Hanoi – Vientiane, cooperation for development”.
