Vietnam is in Group C of the 2022 AFC Women’s Asian Cup together with reigning champions Japan, the Republic of Korea, one of Asia’s top 4, and Myanmar, a strong competitor, according to a draw held at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s headquarters in Malaysia on Thursday.  

The tournament is scheduled to take place from January 20 to February 6, 2022 in India.

For the first time in history, the Women’s Asian Cup has been expanded from eight teams to twelve. After the group stage, top eight squads will advance to quarterfinals.

The tourney will serve as the continental qualification for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
