Vietnam pursues zero tolerance to drug-related crimes

Vietnam will not tolerate any drug-related crimes as it strives to build a safe and secure ASEAN Community with other regional nations.

Minister of Public Security To Lam told the seventh ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Drug Matters held virtually on Thursday that Vietnam has been actively implementing the National Drug Prevention and Control Programme and is amending and supplementing the Law on Drug Prevention and Control in order to effectively respond to the changing environment related to drug-related crime. He said Vietnam prioritizes the prevention of trans-national illicit drug trafficking and communication campaigns to diversify treatment models while strictly controlling legal activities related to drugs.
