Vietnam reports 47 new COVID-19 infections Tuesday morning

The Health Ministry confirms 47 more new community transmissions Tuesday morning, bringing the infection tally in Vietnam’s latest COVID-19 wave to 10,678.

Four localities reported cases include Ho Chi Minh City (36), Bac Giang (9), and one each in Nghe An and Gia Lai province.

Hanoi has started to reopen some services such as haircut and indoor dining Tuesday, with social distancing measures being properly enforced.

Accordingly establishments have to shut down before 9 p.m. every day, while bars, pubs, and draft beer venues are only allowed to sell takeaways.

COVID-19 restrictions have been eased as the latest coronavirus wave in Hanoi has basically put under control. 18 out of 32 pandemic-hit localities have passed 14 days without any new COVID-19 case in the community.
