Vietnam to increase support for women-led enterprises

 

Economists, policy makers, and women entrepreneurs from ASEAN countries gathered in Hanoi on Friday for the Women CEOs Summit 2022 to help women-led businesses.

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan told the event that the topics discussed at the meeting are of great concerns.

“The discussions help to put forth valuable proposals and initiatives not only for women-led enterprises, but also for governments, trade promotion and support organizations, and women entrepreneur networks to facilitate women-led businesses to access development resources, optimize opportunities from the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and strengthen connectivity and cooperation to overcome challenges together to recover and rise for a sustainable ASEAN community,” said Madam Xuan.

Over the years, the position of women in ASEAN has increased considerably through the promotion of gender equality and women’s empowerment, women’s increased engagement in business and skill development activities, women-led enterprises. In Vietnam, up to 48% of women are engaged in the labor market of the economic sector.
