Vietnamese fans warned about use of FAN ID to travel to Russia

The Foreign Ministry has advised Vietnamese fans travelling to Russia on FAN IDs to use the document on the right purpose and obey the host country’s regulations to avoid legal problems or being stuck at foreign airports amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. A FAN ID is a mandatory document for all the spectators of UEFA EURO 2020 matches in Saint Petersburg, Russia, in 2021.

The document enables foreign ticket holders to enter the country from May 29 to July 2 without a visa to attend the tournament.

According to the Ministry, many Vietnamese citizens using Fan IDs have been denied entry to Russia and deported for misusing the document or failing to prove that they travel to Russia to watch the tournament.

Saint Petersburg will host seven EURO matches, including the quarter-final, which will take place on July 2.
