Vietnam’s water puppetry, folk music reach out to French public

French audiences were treated to a special program of Vietnamese water puppetry and folk music themed “Village stories” over the weekend in Paris. The 4-day event was organized by the Indochina Children’s Association in collaboration with the Hanoi-Vietnam Water Puppet Performance Art Company.

From the simple and peaceful daily life stories of farmers in Vietnamese villages to fairy tales and legends, all were recreated on a lively and seductive stage.

In addition, folk music performances recognized by UNESCO, such as Tuong (classical opera), Chau Van (ritual singing), and Hau Dong (mediumship rite) blew the mind of the audience.
